On a trip to Kansas City a few weeks ago I lent the first prototype of the new Model 1A to Jimmie Meade.  Jimmie really liked the amp, so he started taking it to Lee McBee's regular gigs at BB's Lawnside Barbecue on Sunday nights.  Fortunately, Lee's guitar player Karl has a habit of recording just about everything.  Thanks to Karl, here are a few clips from January 20th, 2008.

In the first clip you hear Jimmie playing the intro to a song that ended up being about 8 minutes long.  I isolated the first 3 minutes so you can hear what the Model 1A sounds like.  I'm not sure if he was using his RE-10 or his custom Shure bullet on this song, but he goes from quiet to loud and just about everything in between on this intro.

Lee was standing by with his ancient Maestro that he plays with an RE-10.  He took a solo, which has been trimmed off at the beginning of this clip.  Then he started trading licks with Jimmie.  You can hear Lee on the Maestro, then Jimmie on the 1A, the Maestro again, then the 1A again, and then back to the Maestro and fade.

A few songs later in the set, Lee McBee played a slow blues with another guest, Paul, on guitar.  Here's Lee's solo from that song, played on the 1A prototype.

I gave new Model 1A prototype amps to both Lee and Jimmie on my most recent trip to Kansas City last week.  I'll likely have new material to post here next week if I can get in touch with Karl to get another CD.  I overheard Karl talking to McBee about recording some samples in a controlled environment for me.  They all really liked the amps, so they were pretty enthusiastic about it.

Thanks again to everybody who helped me get these clips put together.
